Cup win against Vipers

An 8 try performance against Vipers saw the South under 15's progress to the semi final stages of this seasons County Cup. With conditions best described as sticky underfoot, the scores kept coming as South applied some of the work from the training pitch against a plucky Vipers side. With 6 tries through forwards Allen (2), Higgs, Hay, Jones and new prop Douglas, against 2 through backs Lockwood (Try+5 Cons) and Duggan, one maybe forgiven for thinking that this was a game for the front eight. However this was not for the want of trying as the backs showed a deal of enterprise, with the ball seeing plenty of air and only some stout defending preventing further scores. An excellent debut for new prop Douglas and well done to lock Hay, who had an outstanding match in the tight and was rewarded with a well taken try rampaging through 5 would be tacklers to touch down.
