Despite losing out to Harborough it was a great performance to show just how much the U15's have improved this season.

South travelled to a packed Market Harborough ground for the Plate semi-final and cold windy conditions greeted them.

It was lively end to end play right from the start but it was Harborough who stole the first try and conversion.South fought back with a line out and then sustained pressure on the Harborough line won us several penalties and after some well thought out set piece play we got over the try line but the ball was held up. South should have and indeed deserved to score but it was Harborough who stole the ball and this resulted in their second.

We did not give up and pressure on their line from South allowed us the break back with a try from Y Fantini. We were frustrating Harborough's play resulting in a yellow card for an infringement in the scrum.

Half Time:- Harborough 12 South 5

Rocky said they were playing like demons and we were not letting Harborough play and as a result they were giving away penalties and we now needed to capitalise on this.

We started well in the second half but Harborough began to pressure us and it was South's turn to receive a yellow for continuous offside and Harborough took advantage. Harborough's winger scored and shortly after their scrum half added to the tally - 24-5. Heads could have gone down but we showed great character and battled on.Some scrappy play and tempers fraying on both sides resulted in another yellow for South for indiscipline.A final period of sustained pressure by South on the Harborough line forced the home team to commit several offences and the referee awarded a penalty try which South fully deserved.

Final Score:- Harborough 24 South 12

Rocky and Ian were pleased with the teams performance. Rocky said they all worked hard especially in such tough conditions. Ian added that if they continued to play like this they would be more than a match for anyone in the county.More needs to be done to improve tackling which let us down a bit - Rocky said he will try and get a tackling coach and hold a clinic so we can work on this.
