Great win for South U13's

Oakham v South Leicester 15/2/15

Another beautiful day with great conditions for running rugby for South's match against Oakham.

South had a great start with Ben scoring a lovely try down the right wing. 0-5 to South. Conversion missed.

From the restart a line out ensued and some good rucking from the pack led to some strong running from Jack down the centre. A messy scrum followed and the ball was fed to Ben who again showed great pace and awareness to outstrip the Oakham defence to score his second ! 0-10 South.

Callum certainly had his kicking boots on and scored a great conversion ! 0-12 to South.

From the restart South's concentration slipped and Oakham sneaked a try back but missed the conversion. 5-12 to South

South started strongly again from the kick off winning a scrum. Jack took the ball on the crash and scored a powerful try down the centre, tacklers bouncing off him !

Jonathan made a good effort at the conversion which was just short. 5-17 to South.

Oakham rallied and started attacking down the right wing forcing Jon to make a brave try saving tackle.

Half time - 5-17 to South.

The 2nd half started brightly with both packs winning and loosing scrums. Callum made a probing run throwing a class dummy leading to a South scrum. Ball was won and Ben the try machine was on the other end and made a scything run to score a well earned hatrick of tries ! Well done Ben !

Oakham refused to give up and made a strong attack on our line forcing a hammer of a tackle from Cameron which made the touch line shudder !

South continued to defend bravely with tackles from Reece and Morgan stopping the wave of Oakham attacks.

George started an attack from the middle resulting in the pack driving towards Oakhams line forcing Morgan over for a great try.

5-35 to South. Jon kicked a great conversion !

5-37 to South.

Cameron made a great catch from the kick off and drove forward. Oakham forced a turnover later and stole a well earned try missing the conversion. Final score 10-37 !

A great performance from South today and although you're not all mentioned YOU ALL played your part ! Special mention must go to Joe, Sam, Reece and Deven who displayed excellent sportsmanship and attitude by playing for Oakham and certainly made South work for everything ! You all played really well - well done lads !!! Keep up the great work !
