SLRFC U13's Just Too Strong for Coalville

A fantastic team effort resulted in a convincing 27-0 victory for South U13 vs Coalville U13.

Early pressure from Coalville led to a try saving tackle by U12s Oscar deep in Souths half. Strong possession from Souths pack led to Jack joining the line at pace taking play into opposition 22. Another strong phase of play from the pack and the ball was passed through the backs all the way to Lewis. The ball then went right leading to Calum scoring in the corner. 5-0 South.

Souths pack remained solid, absorbing pressure from Coalville. Mitchell broke down the right to be tackled at half way. South spread the ball left to right only for Coalville to regain possession.

A massive tackle by Cameron was followed by Reece pinning Coalville back into their 22. More sustained pressure from Souths pack and Reece broke from the back of a ruck to score under the posts. A superb team try topped off by Reece. 10-0 South.

Coalville fought back applying pressure with Max and Miles absorbing tackles. A period of strong ball retention lead to Jack and Alex breaking down the right wing. A resulting lull in play was then suddenly broken when Sam sprinted away from his own 22, outpacing both the opposition and his Dad on the sidelines! Sam scored in the corner. 15-0 South. Half time.

The second half started strongly with South playing much in Coalvilles half. Alex created a jinxing run led to Reece taking the ball to opposition 22. Alex regained possession to break left, linking with Jack. Jack broke several tackles to score under the posts. 20-0 South.

The pack again drove forward with breaking into opposition 22. Coalville tried to break under their own posts but were stopped by Jonathon talking on their line. Souths pack took possession driving forward to allow Callum break away to score under the posts. Alex converted. 27-0 South.

More hard work from Souths pack with strong tackling from Miles and George. Coalville broke away only to be stopped by Jack at our 22. Further attack from Coalville resulted in Jonathon bravely taking a big hit. With Jonathon injured, Coalville lent a player. South rallied and finished 27-0 winners. Well done all a great team effort!
