South travel to Corby for a good away win

Before start of play Stewarts & Lloyds coach informed us that he was short of a few players for his team, so South lent the home team players to get a 15 aside match.

South started well from the kick off with some good rucking and fast ball coming from M.Browne which gave the backs good opportunities for some strong running. On one of these good passages of play by the forwards fast ball came out from a ruck which was moved down the backs line to H.Jackson on the wing to score the first try.

The pressure was kept up by all 15 players on S&L try line and a second try was scored by B.Phylactou with a good jinx to go over the line near the posts.

The third try came again from some powerful rucking and fast ball out to K.Hughes who ran through a group of players to score.

Half time score 0-19

In the second half S&L pack put more pressure on South but after a pick up off the ground on the run J.Bryan went over to score.

Around this time the match started to get scrappy because of the heavy muddy pitch and the light rain which had began to fall and this is when S&L scored their first and only try.

To finish of the game W.Bass did one of his signature line out moves to score the final try for South.

All five conversions where taken by K.Hughes and F.Essam with 3 converted.

Final score 7-31 to South Leicester.
