South turned up at a sunny but cold Bosworth ground full of optimism following 2 good wins already this season for this county cup tie.
Unfortunately Market Bosworth was a huge step from anything South have faced thios season, and a one sided first half finishing 45-0 to Bosworth. The difference in the sides was the crisp clean passing of the Bosworth backs, their excellent support of the ball carrier, with South struggling to cope with this with poor defence/tackling.
The second half started with South having the advantage of he slope, however Bosworth came back on the attack and scored to make the score 50-0. The ref decided to keep the game going, which lead to a 10 minute period where South showed ability and determination to compete. Agressive defence led by K.Damian, J.Beech and R.Chapman, combined with some great forward surges by W.Bass lead to the ball being passed down the line where D.Pegg made a fantastic outside break to socre in the corner for South's one and only try. Market Bosworth scored a further two tries before the final whistle went, with the travelling support feeling the second half display was much more encouraging, with lessons to be learnt in key areas of the game, tackling, restarts & basic passing.
This has been a good experience for the lads as it gives them a clear target for improvement to progress the season.
