Busy Sunday at South Leicester RFC but a great day for rugby, sun was shining the ground was soft, and the South were in good spirits.
Game 1 South Leicester RFC played Stoneygate RFC.
The first half was fast moving for both teams. South had the determination and the will to defend their try line but the speed just kept those tags sliding through their fingers. Stoneygate’s however gained a solid tag score forcing South to display their passing skills. Good job as they needed these skills to gain the ground, seeing Joe dive for the try line to score their first try. Stoneygate soon followed with their first try and then another. South ball, whistle went and the Jack passed to Tai, Stoneygate’s defence had lost focus and weren’t ready. Giving Tai the advantage to slip through, he almost got to the try line and was tagged, but well supported by his team he passed to Joe to score the try. Stoneygate took the lead again scoring another try. Final play of the first half saw some good tagging by Stoneygate but South passed well and pushed forwarded to allow Kian to score the final try for South before the whistle. Half Time: 3-3
Second half and both sides played well, South improved their tag score seeing Kian, Corben & Tai grabbing those Tags. Jack managed to slip pass Stoneygate to score South’s only try of this half. A few turn over balls due to South being in touch, lost them chances. Stoneygate scored three tries to South’s one. Final Score 4-6 to Stoneygate

Game 2 South Leicester RFC played Leicester Forest East RFC.
The second game and South Leicester U8’s were working together as a team, seen them improve their tagging from Corben, Kian, Joe & Tai. LFE applied the pressure and took South’s tags, leaving them very little room for manoeuvre, South stuck with it and managed to support Kian in scoring two tries. LFE’s scored four tries within the first half. Half Time: 2-4 to Leicester Forest East
Second half and it seems it takes south a while to work out the opposition because their performance had improved. South were using their defence more strategically cutting off LFE’s player and tagging before the try line. This favour was returned by LFE tagging South players resulting in a turn over ball. Ball seemed to be played backwards and forwards cross the pitch, with South’s Jack scoring the first try of the second half, followed by LFE scoring. Jacob’s speed allowed him to gain the ground to a try for south. South seem to like diving in the muddy pitch today, with both Kian & Joe diving on the try line to score another two tries for South. Final Score 6-8 to Leicester Forest East RFC

Game 3 South Leicester RFC played Stoneygate RFC again
There was just enough time to squeeze in another game against Stoneygate.
South had got the measure of Stoneygate since the first game and were determined to close that gap in the score. Jacob & Kian both used the space to score tries for South. Stoneygate’s team slipped through to gain a couple of tries. South pushed play towards the try line, Stoneygate were tagging but South supported each other resulting in Tai scoring twice for South. Both teams scored evenly within the first half. Half Time: 4-4
Second and final half of the day, Jacob found the pace to score another two tries gliding past Stoneygate’s defence. The following part of game had a few knocks with Joe and Kian colliding with Stoneygate players. Joe seemed to recover well has he followed up by setting Jack up with a try. Kian scored again rounding up the play of the day. Stoneygate scored five tries to South’s four in the second half. Final Score 8-9 to Stoneygate RFC
Tries by Tai, Jack, Kian & Jacob. Tags by Tai, Jack, Joe, Jacob, Kian & Corben
