Well Deserved Result from South

First Game Lions v’s South. The rain was pouring but south started strong against the lions. South demonstrated some fantastic passing to see Joe score the first try of the game. Lion’s ball but South grabbed those tags, and with Lions on the back foot, they lost the ball only for south to seize the opportunity. Max raced towards try line only to be tagged but with South supporting well he passed to Tai to score. Lions used speed through South’s gaps to score their 1st try. Undeterred South really took advantage of Lion’s passes and grabbed those loose balls to score a further three more tries to Lions two. The first half allowed South to gain the confidence, seeing in order Joe, Tai, Max, Jacob & Jack scoring tries, working as a team. Half Time 3-5 to south and the lads we’re smiling in the rain.
With the boost from the 1st half South came back with lots of energy in spite of the rain, scoring a fast try was Jack. Jack was on a mission grabbing tags and keeping the Lions at bay. Another loose ball by the Lions gave max the chance to score his second try of the game. Lions scored a further two tries but south remained strong in their defence and attack with Tai, Joe and Max scoring another three tries before the whistle. Brilliant effort South. Final Score 5 – 10 to South

Second game Vipers on their home turf v’s South. Vipers came out strong tagging South as they pushed towards the try line, but South couldn’t quite make it and ball turned over to Vipers due to the tagging. Vipers took the advantage and scored the 1st try. South realised quickly not to leave themselves quiet so open to tagging. South had to work hard to ensure the space was used well to avoid vipers defence. Both teams played well in the first half with even scores by half time. Half Time 4 - 4 After a quick pep talk by Jamie South came back on with grit. South took control of the game scoring six more tries to Vipers three. The rain wasn’t affecting South performance today. Joe stormed through the rain to score three of the six tries. Final Score 7 – 10 to South

The third game was played with a mix team of South & Lions players against Vipers. Lions and South played well together but the unfamiliar team posed difficulties when locating players for passes seeing Vipers score four tries to South & Lions two.
Final Score 4 – 2 to South / Lions
