U8's in tight battle against Melton

Feeling the first cold snap of the winter South under 8’s v Melton at home.

Melton to start and they were quick to score, catching South off guard. South’s chance to even the score seen, some good passes and allowed Jacob sprint forward to score a try. A very fast moving game with Melton tagging well, keeping South on their toes with the passes. Joe scored two more tries for South. A few knocks were had during the first half with South going in for Tags, but Melton manage to score a further two more tries, all even as they went into half time. 3-3 The second half saw Melton come back strong scoring two more tries to South’s one, scored again by Jacob. Final Score 4-5 to Melton

Second game, South seemed to have warmed up and was playing better. South were diving for those tags and their determination paid off collecting ten tags in the first half to Melton’s four. Forcing Melton back from the try line, making it difficult for them to Score. Combined with South’s effective team work, earned them four tries from Max, Jack & two from Joe against Melton’s one try. Half Time 4-1 to South

Another strong start by South saw South score three further tries and some excellent tagging defending the try line only allowing Melton to score a further one try. Final score 7-2 to South.

Third Game and you would expect South to be tried but they held their own, strong efforts by both teams, passes and tagging. First half seen Melton score four tries to South score three tries. The Second half South tried to pull the score even. Every time south scored it was followed by Melton. Despite an excellent team effort by South Melton scored a try to each of South three in the second half. Final Scores 6-7 to Melton.
