Nine tries for South as they get the comedic seal of approval!
Sam Greasley took advantage of some good approach work to contribute three tries in a comprehensive defeat of already relegated ON’s.
However, it wasn’t all plain sailing as courtesy of some slack South passing and silly mistakes the visitors from Northampton kept the score to 24-21 at half time scoring three tries to South’s four.
ON’s, however, only contributed a penalty in the second half as South ran riot to score five more tries all converted to take the final score to 59-24.
Apart from Sam’s three tries, Will Keeling, Aaron Langan, Andy Harris, Keiran Collins, Stu Bale and Connor Smith all added touchdowns.
Mark Lord converted five while Matt Ginvert added another two conversions to the comprehensive victory margin.
Canadian comedian Stuart Francis (Mock the Week, Live at the Apollo) attended the game as guest of the Lord family and was impressed with South and especially Sam Greasley’s contribution in the game. So much so that the “Leicester South number 11” got an honourary mention in his stage show at Loughborough town hall later that evening!
Moving on to next week and the last game of the season versus play off reciprients Dudley Kingswinford.
