An entertaining game with both teams scoring 4 tries was settled by Rickie Aley whose kicking made the difference. He notched 4 penalties, converted all the tries, scored a try and contributed towards 2 other tries.
Luctonians opened the scoring with an penalty from Silver 0-3 Dominate South scrums gave Aley a chance to have a pop a goal from beyond the halfway,this he duly did with two enormous kicks to South a 6-3 lead. Kelly put the visitors back in front following a run along the touch line,navigating the whitewash and the tackles for an unconverted try. 6-8.South hit back after Aley found Gaz Turner who put Calum Gunn over,Aley adding .Silver reduced the arrears with a penalty to give South HT lead 16-11
5 minutes into the second half Aley read a Lucs pass in Souths 22,intercepted and ran on for a try and converting. 23-11,Within 2 minutes Lucs responded with an Alsop try,Silver converting. 23-18
Despite the visitors changing their props they conceded another penalty at the scrum, Aley's long touch relieving visitors pressure. The green and whites were having to defend as the visitors tried to find a way to the try line. Following sustained pressure South won the ball on their own line. Aley took a pass behind the try line outrageously crossed kicked to, Matt Riddington whose pass to Matt Cooke put him away as raced from the 22 to touch down, Aley converting 30-18. A Hodnett try kept try visitors in the game 30-23.Lucs deliberately knocked on in front of their posts and Aley did the rest 33-23.
South followed with another try after Chris Gibbs ran from his 22 chipped ahead and Blane Howe collected to go over,Aley converting.40-23.The visitors got a deserved bonus point try through Smith but South ran out worthy winners 40-28
