South took to the field and made a positive start, Rickie Aley adding a penalty after just 6 mins, from the south forwards applying pressure to Chester pack 3-0. But it was Chester who came back with converted score of their own after 20 mins. 3-7.
South forwards again worked hard against a big pack and earned a penalty try, after Chester collapse a drive from 5 metres out, Aley converting 10-7. That was to be the last score for south in the match, on the stroke of half time swift hands from the visitors lead to a try out wide, converted. 10-14 HT
Chester started the second half stronger and immediately had a penalty 10-17, followed by an unconverted try after 15min. 10-22. The remaining 25 mins had little in the way of scoring opportunity from both sides. FT 10-22
This game was not one of the best, south should have got more from the game on home soil, just one win in 4 and the league leaders Caldy to play away next week. Lets hope the coaches and players can spring a surprise away from home.
