South win at home, just...

Another win in this tightest of leagues and an example of the value of the bench proving it is not just the fifteen on the pitch that win games

Rickie Aley proved a super sub and turned the game that appeared lost for South Leicester. Wharfedale looked to have come back from a half time deficit and gained control in a tight game in which at one stage it looked as if it would end in a stalemate

After an early Wharfedale missed penalty and a disallowed Toms Asejevs try it took until the 24th minute for the scoreboard to register. Matthew Riddington put the home side ahead with a penalty after a Wes Cope drive had caught the visitors offside. Neither team could break through until Riddington's high kick to the wing was collected by Blane Howe who evaded his tackler to cross, Riddington converting to give South a 10-0 lead at half time.

Wharfedale came out of blocks fast in the second half, as Richard Rhodes and Daniel Stockdale drove the home side back winning a penalty, James Guy converting. 10-3. Guy quickly added another 10-6, as the visitors pressed and deservingly gaining their reward with a penalty try after the home side had pulled down a maul Guy adding two points 10-13. South's Matt Riddington levelled the score with a penalty 13-13, Adam Howard then crashed over for Wharfedale, Guy adding the extras giving Wharfedale a 13-20 lead with 15 minutes to go

Aley came on and changed the game, quickly scoring a try after Calum Gunn was just short, 18-20. Aley then knocked over a penalty from long range to give South a one point lead 21-20. With the last play of the game Wharfedale had a chance to win the game, however a missed penalty ensured Aley's late contribution gave the home side a win
