South never looked like repeating the heroics from the last meeting between these two teams held back in November at Fortress Fengate.
At no time did they threaten the Peterborough try line and for most of the first half were penned into their own half defending for their lives. A Matt Thomas break out was the only high light as Peterborough went into the break 10 points clear courtesy of inside centre Duncan Low who scored all their points.
More of the same in the second half as Peterborough controlled proceedings in all aspects of the game giving fly half Ben Chan an armchair ride, resulting in Pete Brudnell adding an unconverted try to conclude the scoring.
Only in the last ten minutes did South come alive putting together some aggressive phases of play and some expansive surges, however, it was too little too late, even though Peterborough were down to 14 men at this stage with two successive yellow cards.
No points for the first time this season, no kickable penalties awarded, a poor level of support and very little positives to report as Peterborough dominated from start to finish.
Overall, some hard work by some of the forwards, epitomised by Rob Sands, but very little quality possession in which to turn defence into attack.
